Questions we hear most
If yours isn't here, call or send a message. Please leave out medical details.
Do you take my insurance?
We file claims for you with dental plans that include orthodontic benefits, and we're out of network with the rest. Plans differ a lot in what they pay toward braces or aligners, and some pay nothing for adults. We check your benefits before the first visit and tell you what we find; the plan decides what it pays.
What if I don't have insurance?
You get a written estimate before treatment, and you can ask for it when you book. It lists what we expect to do and what each part costs. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.
Do you accept Medicaid or CHIP?
No. We are not enrolled with Medicaid or CHIP.
Will braces or aligners hurt?
Neither needs numbing. Teeth can feel tender for a few days after braces go on, after an adjustment, or when you start a new set of trays. Soft food helps, and you can ask for a break at any visit.
How often do I need X-rays?
Dr. Jafari decides from your exam and your history. Most patients have X-rays at the records visit, and she tells you why before she takes any more.
Do I still see my family dentist during treatment?
Yes. Cleanings, fillings and checkups for cavities stay with your family dentist, and we send a note about your treatment. Brushing takes longer around braces and trays, so those visits matter.
Do you see teens and children?
We see teens and adults. A parent or guardian comes to a teen's first visit and stays as long as they like. For a younger child, call us and we'll tell you whether a visit makes sense now.
What counts as a dental emergency?
A knocked-out or broken tooth, swelling in the face, or bleeding that won't stop needs care now. A loose bracket or a poking wire is something to call us about. If you can't breathe or swallow, call 911.
Do you offer sedation, and who gives it?
No. Orthodontic visits here don't use sedation. If you need sedation for other dental work, your family dentist can tell you who offers it.
Can I get a written estimate before treatment?
Yes. You get one before any treatment, and nothing starts until you say yes.
Do you speak Spanish?
Marbella Pizarro, our treatment coordinator, speaks Spanish and English. This website is in English.
How do I change or cancel a visit?
Call or text us as early as you can. Your time is held for you, so the sooner we know, the sooner we can offer it to someone else.
